About ChatGPT and the importance for project management, pt2
In view of the many examples of how AI is already being used today, it is clear that it is no longer a promise for the future. Technology is already fundamentally changing the way we work. Programs like ChatGPT also offer significant advantages in project management, which is why companies will increasingly invest in them.
This is the conclusion reached by a joint study by the start-up OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT, and researchers from the University of Pennsylvania. Around 80 percent of all employees in the USA are employed in jobs in which at least one task can be completed more quickly using generative AI. The research department of the investment bank Goldmann Sachs draws a similar conclusion. It assumes that around two thirds of all current jobs are automated to a certain extent by AI. Up to a quarter are even completely replaced. Extrapolated to the whole world, that would correspond to around 300 million full-time jobs.
In view of the huge energy requirements and the high data protection requirements, AI experts assume that such forecasts will remain purely theoretical. Nevertheless, there are already thousands of application examples that are used in almost all industries. This starts with reading the daily timeline, which the AI creates based on personal surfing and reading behavior, continues with the analysis of X-ray images or laboratory results for the diagnosis of pattern recognition software, the determination of places where photos and videos were taken, and in journalism towards defense against cyber attacks.
